The way I understand it onbar is some sort of interface between the
database and a backup program. You don't use onbar directly, but
intstead can use third party products that will support onbar.
I was also told that bundled with online 7.3 would be a backup program
from Legato which is one of the major players in the field. With it you
should be able to backup a bunch of unix file systems, a bunch of
informix online instances and maybe some other stuff, all on the same
tape or set of tapes. I don't know what the limitations will be for the
bundled product.
Is this correct? Does anyone know more?
