TYPE reserved word 7.3x

Thinking about this some more, IMHO this is a most ill-chosen reserved word. "type" must be a column name in many users' schemas and a table or procedure name in some. Are enough of us affected to jointly influence Informix to change the reserved word (it must be very much less used than as an object name) in a future release? How do customers communicate such wish items (assuming I am right and it *is* a wish) to Informix?
