infxclone
Posted in 2014
Peter Logan (AIX 6.1, IDS 12.10.FC3) asked for onconfig settings to get the best throughput when cloning a large database with infxclone. Madison Pruet recommended SMX_COMPRESS 1 and setting BAR_MAX_BACKUP above 1, on both the target and primary servers. Peter had BAR set to 4 to match his storage manager. No further discussion.

Thanks ... Couple of follow up questions ... Should these be set on both the target and primary servers ... and then is there a general guideline for the BAR parameter ... On this particular server we generally have that set to 4 as that is what our storage manager is allowing ... Peter Logan Database Administrator SpartanNash INC.
