altering extent sizes

i have posted previously regarding the large number of extents present in our database. I intend to unload tables from dbspaces and reload them, rebuilding the dbspace. how can i also alter the extent sizes. I realize that it isn't critical because the data will be re-loaded contiguosly to the disk I want to adjust it so that when running my scripts that check for number of extents that these tables wont how up again with the large number. Is there a better remedy to my dilemma?
