OnTape (7.14) not quitting properly

According to the documentation, simply doing Ctrl+C will stop OnTape -c just fine. However, we have found that we have actually had to kill the connection to get it to stop. This leaves an orphaned process that gobbles up a tremendous amount of CPU time (usually listed around item 2 or 3 in 'top'). Any comments?
