Dears, I have recently upgraded from IDS 11.50FC4 to 11.50FC9 by renameing the current home and Installing new version in the old home.The database came up and everything was normal, but when I tried to restore an old level0 backup I got the following error. In which case you need to restore the old image to the proper version, = do an unload and reload into the new version. j. That is correct. Backup and Restore only runs on exact the same = Versions. That, unfortunately, is to be expected as I believe that in version 11.50FC6 there was functionality added as well as bug fixes and you aren't going to be able to restore from a 11.50FC4 backup on the version that you are on. That was a pretty stupid answer. You should be able to restore the old image using the old $INFORMIXDIR, then reboot the instance using the new $INFORMIXDIR and the engine should migrate the data for you. j.
