I think I gotta line up with Art on this one. I haven't seen a version of IDS (on a 2K page size platform) that supports chunk sizes of over 2GB. 7.30 on HP-UX 11 definitely doesn't. I've heard of plans to move that direction and claims that it already does.. I'd be certainly interested in hearing specific versions/platforms if I'm wrong, however. I have seen the 64-bit marketing sheet that says: "Application File sizes: File sizes in excess of the traditional 2 GB limit can be handled. "Disk management: The 2 GB limit on storage is not relevant, so larger chunks of data can be stored and accessed. This helps with better performance for the OS and the database." How this is currently being implemented is a mystery to me. I've checked release notes for HP, SGI and Siemens. They all say "The maximum chunk size is unchanged at 2 GB." >shrug<
