Re: New Group Archive

Russell I generally go to www.deja.com and enter a keyword I wish to search on. I wrote a Perl program that does a general newsgroup trawl searching for a regular expression using the Net::NNTP module, but that returns only the contents of the current archive for the NG which means it finds articles that have been posted recently, with the definition of recently depending on the NG server's hard disk space and the frequency of postings. Dejanews archives the contents of the newsgroup servers regularly so you will find "old" postings as well. I have also heard of another site called RemarQ but have not tried it. How do you consult the news group archive to find out if your question may have already been answered? Appreciate all of your help. Thanks in adavance. Russell L.
