Re: Disappearing BLOB space

Dave, What you describe is a documented feature (space not immediately being made available when a blob is deleted). Quoting from my On-line Database Adminstration class manual: "Since physical logging does not take place on blobspace blobpages, no changes can be allowed to occur on the contents of the blobspace chunks until the archive process has completed writing their contents to the archive tape. To insure this, all blobspace chunks are effectively locked until they have been archived. This means you cannot change the contents of a blobspace until the contents of its chunks have been written to the archive tape. You can access blob data already stored, but you cannot add new blob data, delete existing blob data, or update existing blob data in that blobspace until the chunks have been archived." Hope this helps!
