There is a su_ontape.c program in the IIUG archives which does the same
thing for ontape, letting non-root/informix users run some of the
arguments. You can download the code and adapt it to onmode.

} I have the same problem here. I tried using "sudo" ( on UNIX ), but
} though I can give access to use onmode, unfortunately I cannot
} restrict it accept parameters ( ie onmode -z ). If anybody knows

} I am the sole DBA at my company. However, there are times when I am
} not available and an errant session needs to be killed. The only way
} I know to kill a session cleanly is with the onmode -z command. Is
} there any way to give someone the ability to kill an informix session
} using onmode without giving them the informix password or compromising
} security elsewhere?
