I don't think that we directly migrate from 7.22 to 9.4. You'll probably need to plan on a step migration. (i.e. migrate to 7.31 first). If you do that, then dbexport/dbimport would not be required. If you want to go the dbexport/dbimport route, then you should be able to skip the 7.31 step.
