Solaris 9 and KAIO

I cannot find kio or kaio in the release notes for 9.40 on Solaris, but my understanding is that KAIO is always on in Solaris unless you work to stop it? If so, why do I only see 2 kaio listed when I have 3 cpu vp's? I think kaio thread number 3 will be added on demand. I saw that behaviour under 7.31.FC6 AIX 5. Just run a couple of sqls or client apps and check again.
