Install IDS from iiug :error wizard.inf (104)
Posted in 2010
A user installing IDS 11.5 (64-bit) on Fedora hit the InstallShield error "could not load wizard specified in /wizard.inf (104)". Suggestions included running ./ids_install -javahome none to use the bundled JRE, doing a console-mode install (-console), checking permissions on the hidden .jvm.bin file, and removing the OS's OpenJDK/OpenJava. The original poster resolved it by installing a Sun/Oracle JRE from java.com and running: ./ids_install -console -javahome /usr/java/jre1.6.0_20/.

Tried..... [root@CLBBLR-650 informix]# ./ids_install -javahome none Initializing InstallShield Wizard........ Extracting Bundled JRE. [root@CLBBLR-650 informix]# ./ids_install Initializing InstallShield Wizard........ Launching InstallShield Wizard..... The wizard cannot continue because of the following error: could not load wizard specified in /wizard.inf (104)
Check permission for *.jvm.bin *file. Do chmod 777 .jvm.bin. File is hidden and is in install directory - same as ids_install On 21.06.2010 12:52, PRABAL DAS wrote: > Tried..... > > [root@CLBBLR-650 informix]# ./ids_install -javahome none > > Initializing InstallShield Wizard........ > > Extracting Bundled JRE. > > [root@CLBBLR-650 informix]# ./ids_install > > Initializing InstallShield Wizard........ > > Launching InstallShield Wizard..... > The wizard cannot continue because of the following error: could not load > wizard specified in /wizard.inf (104) > > > ******************************************************************************* > Forum Note: Use "Reply" to post a response in the discussion forum. > > -- Ivan Zaviç System& DB Administrator Mobile:+381-64-846-99-08 mail: ivan.zavis@mi-system.co.rs _________________________________________________________ M&I SYSTEMS CO. I ran into the same issue. Once I uninstalled the OpenJava version that's installed with the OS, then IDS installed without any issue. -----Original Message----- From: ids-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:ids-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of Ivan Zavis DBA Sent: Monday, June 21, 2010 4:11 AM To: ids@iiug.org Subject: Re: Install IDS from iiug :error wizard.inf (104) [20450] Try with *idsinstall -javahome none* On 21.06.2010 10:22, PRABAL DAS wrote: > Hi, > > While installing IDS11.5 64 bit on Fedora, getting error.. > > ..............could not load wizard specified in /wizard.inf (104) > > Installed JRE as specified .. > ../ids_install javahome /usr/bin > > but still its not working... > > Any idea? > > Prabal > > > **************************************************************************** *** > Forum Note: Use "Reply" to post a response in the discussion forum. > > -- Ivan Zaviç System& DB Administrator Mobile:+381-64-846-99-08 mail: ivan.zavis@mi-system.co.rs _________________________________________________________ M&I SYSTEMS CO. Try this: ./ids_install -javahome none The installer is looking for a very specific JRE and if it doesn't find that specific version in the directory you specify it just chokes. Using -javahome none instructs the installer to use the JRE that's bundled inside the installer. Art Art S.
