upgrade to Informix 9.40.HC4

Hello, We just upgrade from Informix 7.31 to 9.40. We are on HP-UX 11.0. Since the upgrade, I can not run the tool 'i4gl'. The 4GL version is 7.20.UD8. The error I receive when starting 'i4gl' is as follows. Unknown error message 10636. This is all the further I can get. Any ideas? Thanks. M.J.Adrian

MICHAEL, Do You have 4GL installed in the same directory as IDS? When we ordered the 9.40.FC4 (SOLARIS 8 (64-bit) environment, the following software was recommended for our installation of 4GL. SQL, ENGINE and CSDK software: 1. 4GL Compiler Development V7.32.FC2 2. 4GL Compiler R/T V7.32.FC2 3. ISQL Development V7.32.FC2 4. ISQL Runtime V7.32.FC2 5. IDS 9.40.FC4 6. The new server overwrites some older files that 4GL needs. = I recommend to install the server and the tool/tools into different direc= tories, for example: /opt/informix.9.40 for the server /opt/i4gl for the 4GL /opt/ifxsdk for SDK things like ESQL/C , ODBC = You should create links for /opt/informix.9.40/etc/sqlhosts in the other = directories. = To use 4GL you set INFORMIXDIR to /opt/i4gl . Maybe you have to install the Informix connect software into /opt/i4gl - = I'm not sure if 4GL comes with all the connect libraries needed. If you have to install the connect software it might be necessary to inst= all an older version (like that from 7.31) to work with 4GL. In that case you haveto s= et SHLIB_PATH too. Connect-SW installation is not necessary for SDK-things, because the SDK = contains the connect software.
