Replications in OWS 7.31

I have OnLine Workgroup Server 7.31 with a data replication. I have application (stored procedure) on the secondary server. When secondary server starts updating during executing the application I receives incorrect data. Can the application see that the secondary database server starts updating? Can the application pause updating on the secondary server until it reads data?
