On Informix-OnLine version 7.13.UC1, under HPUX 10.01, the following script
produced the appended output:
info status for facert_rec;
select npused from systables where tabname="facert_rec";
update statistics low for table facert_rec;
select npused from systables where tabname="facert_rec";
produces

Number of Columns 33

Looks like the bug is still there in some form with Informix 7.13.
