I discovered today my 18.2GB HD died. It contained my rootdb, logiclog and phylog devices. These devices were referred to in the db system as links named /dev/informix/rootdb,logiclog, and phylog. In turn, they linked to /dev/rdsk/c1t1d0s*. I repartitioned the disk and the links still referred to the same c1t1d0s* devices. My question is do these devices need to be formatted in any special way? Since all I did was repartition the drive, these devices available to the db system are unprocessed to be used with the db. But will the db care? Or will the db crash when I try to process my first big db query after this crash? FYI: Solaris 2.6 3/98 IDS 7.3UC1 Sun UE3K, 1GB RAM, 9.1GB/18.2GB HDs
