Team Leader

-------- Position Announcement $45,000 - 55,000 -------- The Arkansas Department of Education, in conjunction with the Arkansas Public School Computer Network (APSCN), has an immediate opening in Little Rock for the position of Project Team Leader. The primary responsibility of this position will be to design, implement, and maintain the Arkansas Public School Reporting System. Serving as the primary liaison for APSCN, the selected applicant will also be responsible for coordinating a project team that will design and develop an automated data collection system to be used for state and federal reporting and ad-hoc data analysis by the Arkansas Department of Education staff to include documenting and maintaining state data submission guidelines, setting project team objectives and goals, monitoring project team progress, making recommendations for improvements when deemed necessary, preparing status reports for presentations to upper management, and supporting and incorporating end-user analytical software. Qualifications: -- a Bachelors of Science in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or other related field. Commensurate experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. -- Five (5) years or more of progressively responsible experience in structured system design and analysis, project team management, source code development, database administration, or other related area. -- Two (2) years of programming experience using 4GL, RDBMS, and UNIX. -- Two (2) years experience providing end-user support for a large scale application. -- Prior experience with financial and student management is highly desirable. The Arkansas Department of Education technical environment consists of a Digital Equipment Corporation Alpha 2100 Server running the OSF/1 operating system. The RDBMS is Informix On-Line and the programming language is Informix 4GL. Salary range is $45,000-55,000 commensurate with experience.
