Bryan, In answer to your questions. 1). I do not know of a simpler way to code a stored proc to return multiple rows. 2). Try using UPSHIFT(var_name), or DOWNSHIFT(var_name) Regards, Tim Hope - Ciber Inc Phone (770) 724-0207 Automobile - A vehicle that runs up hills and down pedestrians -----Original Message----- From: Bryan.Stasiuk [SMTP:Bryan_Stasiuk@weldwood.com] Sent: Monday, August 17, 1998 11:47 AM To: informix-list Cc: Bryan.Stasiuk Subject: Newbie Questions I'm new to the Informix brand of SQL and I have some questions that more experienced developers will probably be able to answer easily. I'm running against an Informix-SE 7.1 db on a UNIX server (don't have the O/S version-hopefully it's not relevant to these questions). 1) Is there a (simpler) way to code a stored proc to return a multi-row result set **other than** using the ForEach statement? 2) Are there any functions or subroutines to return an UPPERcase or LOWERcase version of a string? I checked the 7.2 manuals for "UPPER"/"LOWER", couldn't find anything. Thanks for your help (and your patience). Bryan Stasiuk Weldwood of Canada Ltd.
