All of Daniel's concerns are valid as is the thrashing Informix has taken over the cg92 option. We were told by Informix support that we should use esql "as is" instead of linking in our makefiles. In our apps, the only routine we have run across that is needed out of the bsd library is ftime.o. We extracted it from the bsd library and placed it in one of our own which we link with. It seems to work ok for now. I just got 6.0 in, we'll see if they improved it. Doug Griswold dbg@sur1a.ess.harris.com Lead Software Engineer Harris Publishing Systems
