hi, i'd like to know if there is a way to get the number of the first log on the log tape
Try this script. Make sure to have execute permission on it. Better to run
as informix.
Tested on Linux 6.2 & IDS 9.21 UC3
------------------------------------------------------------------------
#!/bin/sh
tput clear
echo "Enter tape id (0,1,2) \\c"
read resp
echo "This process will take 5 to 10 minutes"
echo "Please be patient...thanks"
mt -f /dev/nst1 rewind
sleep 300
echo ""
onlog -d /dev/nst1 < /home/informix/script/keystroke 1> /tmp/dumplog
grep BEGIN /tmp/dumplog | awk ' { print $5 } ' | sort -uecho ""
echo "Done...these are the logs on this tape."
echo "Please label the tape."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good luck.
