RE: CASE Tools for Informix ?
Posted in 1997
Hi ! A "CASE tool" means different things to different people. It would help if you specify what your client requires from a 'CASE tool'. A proper CASE tool would allow a user to choose a design paradigm ( UML, Fusion, OMT, etc.. ), build various models that are included in that paradigm, interchange between design paradigms, even generate code. These tools are language independent. The industry leaders for good case tools are Platinum's Paradigm Plus and Rational's Rose. However, you ask for "CASE tools for Informix". I guess what your client is looking for is some kind of graphical tool to keep track of E-R diagrams, table schema and generate these and build the database. There are many tools out there that you could use. Try using, S-Designer. Could someone please recommend a couple of good CASE tools for Informix. I need to give the options to the client, and haven't used Informix myself. I appreciate your help.
