New Era Questions

Hi all! I'm having trouble compiling programs in New Era using C compiler 1.5. Each time I use the source Compiler more than once I get an Aplication Error : "W4GLCOMP caused a General Protection Fault in module W4GLCOMP.exe at 0001:0CC7". What's wrong with my Compiler? Besides, trying to get a compiling time compiling programs I chose to upgrade my PC from 16MB RAm to 32 MB. The difference in compiling time had minor change ( From 37 seconds to 30 seconds on a 486 DX at 80 MHZ). Do I need a Expanded Memory Manager? What can I do to better my compiling performance?
