The Database-Account IS Case-Sensitive... > > Hope it works Well, not exactly. Informix's security relies on the underlying OS security. (There are good and bad points to this.) Sybase creates its own user security which is independant of the userid used to log in to the system. (Good and bad points here too.) Sybase has an administrator account SA as the administrator account, so that when you log in to Sybase, you can log in to SA from any account. Informix doesn't have this problem/feature. You first have to log in to the UNIX system as userid: informix, or do an su - informix. (To get the variables and stuff.) Then you need to grant dba to the specific Unix users..... (Use DBACCESS if its still around....) -Mikey -- #include <std_disclaimer.h> /* Mike Segel (MS385) */ #include <No_Spam.h> #ifdef OFFENDED_BY_CONTENT The author takes no responsibility for this post.
