Hello To All, Just a qucik question regarding backwards compatibility between csdk 2.40, & 2.60 with IDS 9.30. Will applications currently using either have to be change to use 2.70 or 2.80? Any ideas and or experiences?? Thanks
You should be able to use applications compiled with either CSDK 2.40 or 2.60 with IDS 9.30, provided you have the correct runtime available -- so that you have a CSDK 2.40 run-time for the CSDK 2.40 apps, and a CSDK 2.60 run-time for CSDK 2.60 apps, etc. That is pretty much a given. In theory, you should be able to use the CSDK 2.80 runtime for both CSDK 2.40 and 2.60. I'd test that carefully. The only change that should be necessary is a recompile -- which might or might not be trivial. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@us.ibm.com) STSM, Informix Database Engineering, IBM Data Management Solutions 4100 Bohannon Drive, Menlo Park, CA 94025 Tel: +1 650-926-6921 Tie-Line: 630-6921 "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!" |---------+----------------------------> | | "DarrenJacob...."| | | <DarrenJacobs@car| | | max.com> | | | Sent by: | | | forum.subscriber@| | | iiug.org | | | | | | | | | 01/23/2003 10:15 | | | AM | | | | |---------+----------------------------> >------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------| | | | To: ids@iiug.org | | cc: | | Subject: csdk compatibility w 9.30 [104] | | | | | >------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------| Just a qucik question regarding backwards compatibility between csdk 2.40, & 2.60 with IDS 9.30.
