Hi Everyone , I am new to the administrative side of Informix Dynamic OL Server and would be gratefull if someone is able to give me a clear answer pertaining to increasing the size of my logical log file. I have tried adjusting the parameters in my confiuration files that did not seem to resolve the problem at all. Tried to use onparm , but the parameters in the book was confusing. My email pb@aquil.de Best Regards , Patrick Blint

As I can recall you have to check your ONCONFIG file where LOGFILES give
the number of log files and LOGSMAX the maximum number of log files.
After that you must add new log files with
onparams -a -d <dbspacename> -s <size>Try also onstat -l to check the actual config and onstat -d to list your
dbspaces.

Once you adjust your parameters, you must restart the database server for these to take effect. If you are new onmonitor is probably the easiest way. Edit logfiles, then shutdown and restart the server In article <37A8042D.FFB51BCD@aquila.de>, patrick Blint <pb@aquila.de> wrote: > Hi Everyone , > > I am new to the administrative side of Informix Dynamic OL Server and > would be gratefull if someone is able to give me a clear answer > pertaining to increasing the size of my logical log file. > > I have tried adjusting the parameters in my confiuration files that did > not seem to resolve the problem at all. > Tried to use onparm , but the parameters in the book was confusing. > > My email pb@aquil.de > > Best Regards , > > Patrick Blint > > Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Share what you know.
