Hi all, When I installed IDS 11.5 TC1 for Windows(Vista-Horrible-Home) something called gsk7 go installed too (BTW WTH is gsk7?). Now that I'm uninstalled IDS11.5 (and CSDK and Blade* stuff) that gsk7 didn't get uninstalled. I checked in their directory and anything like an uninstaller exists there... not in the in control panel (Programs and Features)... So... How do I properly get rid of gsk7 ? Any help, would be welcome ! J.
> (BTW WTH is gsk7?) GSKIT - Global Secure Toolkit is an IBM toolkit which is required for security components of IDS such as encryption to work. See http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r1/ic2924/index.htm?info/rzab6/rzab6cgsk it.htm > How do I properly get rid of gsk7 ? The official answer is that it is a common IBM component, which is why the IDS uninstaller leaves it alone. However you are right it should come with an uninstaller (there is a .msi file for it in %INFORMIXDIR%, so you could try "msiexec /x" which would remove the registry entries though not sure about the files. From IDS 11.50.xC4 GSKIT will get installed locally to IDS and the IDS uninstall program will uninstall it. In the mean time someone probably needs to come up with a script to delete the GSKit installations before xC4... BTW It would be nice too that "C:\\\\Program Files\\\\ibm\\\\gsk7\\\\bin;C:\\\\Program Files\\\\ibm\\\\gsk7\\\\lib" get erased from the PATH when gsk7 (xC4) get uninstalled (In windows of course).
