Re: The Data Administration Newsletter (TDAN) Dear Colleagues, This posting is to announce that The Data Administration Newsletter (TDAN), the popular no-charge newsletter about how to manage data as a valued corporate asset, has moved to a new location. The Data Administration Newsletter Issue 3.0 can now be found at http://www.tdan.com. TDAN Issue 4.0 will be made available at the same URL address on March 1, 1998. The present issue of the newsletter has articles on topics including The Capability Maturity Model (CMM), Data Administration and the Internet, and Data Warehousing Tips and Components. In total there are a dozen articles from many respected names in the Data and Database Administration industry. The next issue of the newsletter will include articles on Meta Data Management, Database Naming Standards and Performance Tuning, Enterprise Information Architecture and Modeling, and the Zachman Framework. In total there will be more than ten new articles from more respected names in the industry. New job classification advertisements have been added as well as book reviews, lists of vendors and conferences, and questions and answers submitted and answered by TDAN readers. FYI, The registered reader base of the newsletter is quickly approaching 2,500 business professionals from around the world. The newsletter receives thousands of hits every business week. If you have not yet registered, please do so by entering http://www.tdan.com/registra.htm. The registered reader list WILL be used for newsletter-related announcements and WILL NOT be sold (so you will not receive additional e-junk as a result of registering). As usual, I am accepting articles for future issues of The Data Administration Newsletter. The deadline for the June 1, 1998 issue is May 1, 1998. Please consider submitting an article, column, white paper, or any written material that you would consider valuable to TDAN readers. I am also VERY interested in gaining additional sponsors and companies that would like to improve their exposure to a very focussed audience of data-related professionals. I can be reached at rseiner@tdan.com if you are interested in more information about this inexpensive way to promote your company and products or recruit Information Technology professionals.
