sgidsh

Dear all, When I run the "SYSTEM" command from within a stored procedure, the command is being executed by $INFORMIXDIR/bin/sgidsh. The problem is that if that command is itself depends on an environment variable being set (like for instance a compiled .ec program needing $INFORMIXSERVER), and the calling environment provides to means of setting and exporting environment varaibles (client-server with ODBC). I can find no documentation about sgidsh anywhere. Why is it needed and more importantly are there any configuration files that it reads?
