Thank you for your reply, but I know that RAID 5 managed by a soft like "Volume Manager" is very poor performance, but is it the same thing if the array is managed by a hardware for informix IDS ?

Yes, but performance is the SMALLEST part of why I reject RAID5. PLEASE read my post on www.baarf.com for full details. RAID5 is NOT SAFE for your data, no matter what the vendors tell you. Art S.
