Hi All, Does anyone know how to load a configuration file into setnet32 (NT) from the command line? I have a file that contains data that I want all of our users to have setup on their systems and the only way I can see to get the settings to them is to package a setnet.nfx file and silently install it for them. Any suggestions? Thanks , J.
Hi Jack! > Does anyone know how to load a configuration file into setnet32 (NT) from > the command line? I had the same Problem! My solution looks like this! a) Create a File that contains the necessary registry entries.(by starting regedit and exporting the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Informix on a workstation you have already configured i-connect) This (my) file has the following content (of course your hosts... might be different): [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Informix] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Informix\\Informix ORDBMS] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Informix\\Informix ORDBMS\\1.0] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Informix\\Informix-Connect] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Informix\\Informix-Connect\\9.00TC1] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Informix\\Informix-Connect\\9.00TC1\\Setup] "SoftwareType"="RDBMS" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Informix\\Setup] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Informix\\Setup\\CurrentVersion] "Registered User"=" " "Registered Organization"=" " [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Informix\\Setup\\InstallDirectories] "p:\\\\programme\\\\informix"="5-20-1999" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Informix\\SqlHosts] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Informix\\SqlHosts\\onldev1tcp] "HOST"="dev1" "SERVICE"="sqlexec" "PROTOCOL"="onsoctcp" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Informix\\SqlHosts\\onlixprod1tcp] "HOST"="ixprod1" "SERVICE"="sqlexec" "PROTOCOL"="onsoctcp" ;BD Informixdir setzen [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\ControlSet001\\Control\\Session Manager\\Environment] "informixdir"="p:\\\\programme\\\\informix" b) call regedit exportfile from the commandline (for example "regedit informix.reg") or just doubleclick this file on the second workstation you want to configure. c) do step a and b for the key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Informix] (you have to do this for every user on the NT box) Regards Bernhard Donaubauer
We use the NT login scripts to pound these values into our users registries via a batch file. I think the program it calls is reg.exe. If anyone wants an example, let me know.
