I do the 'ontape -p' followed by 'onmode -d primary <SecSrvr>' on primary
followed by 'omode -d secondary <PriSrvr>' on the secondary server. The
following lines from 'tail -f online.log' on the Secondary server ( no issues
on the Primary server). Not sure why I am getting the System error. I also
fail to understand what 'DB_ERR is set to -2' means. (IDS 11.50.FC5 on HPUX
11.23. ia64)

Make sure everything is correct in your SQLHOSTS (can you post them?)
It seems you're connecting somewhere... If it's the primary you should see
some indicating message there.
One time I spent a few hours (i'd like to say minutes, but I guess it
reached hours) because I set up secondary to connect to itself... And no
matter how many times I looked at the SQLHOSTS I could not see the
error...:/
