Is it possible to update/restore a database using just logical logs. NOT archive tapes. We are trying to set up a read-only image of our production data base and would like to keep it up-to-date with minimal down time ... for running batch jobs, queries etc. Our plan is to roll logical logs forward each night on the read- only database to keep it up to date. Complete restores take waaaay to long (16-22 hrs). We are running ON-Line 5.0 on an R/S6000-980. We would like to distribute our user load over two processors, using the same LARGE (9 Gb) database.
