Ah! you don't have a support contract, how are you going to get the FD1 software ?? No, it is not free without a support contract. Release notes come with the software (or a support contract). Time to upgrade is dependant on the hardware, the complexity of procedures, the number of indexes and the tasks that need to be done around the edge of an upgrade, but you will find this out when you read the support notes when you get the software, Ah! you can't get the software as you DON'T HAVE A SUPPORT CONTRACT.
