Inserting Blobs using ODBC or MFC

Can anyone tell me how I can insert blobs into an informix table from my VC++ client. I have attempted using a CRecordset, but the ODBC drivers complain about Scroll Cursors on Tables with Blob columns (there isn't a way of opening the table without a scroll cursor). Informix won't allow an INSERT statement with Blob arguments, so I can't pipe raw SQL at it. Finally I have tried using raw ODBC calls (SQLPutData) but that results in a truncation error (probably caused by the fact that you can INSERT INTO with Blob data).
