(most frequently accessed data, towards the end). We are using striping on a large Informix database on a Pyramid. We saw a significant performance gain when we striped one dbspace. We had a 1GB dbspace that was our most active chunk by an order of magnitude (as measured by tbstat -D). We got a gain from striping that dbspace across parts of 4 disks. We used the Pyramid virtual disk driver to do this. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Jim Burks jburks@promus.com ~ ~ Database Administrator / Systems Engineer ~ ~ The Promus Companies, Inc.
