That will cause the bell to ring, and no message to display (i.e. the old message will be erased). or after the CLOSE WINDOW: CURRENT WINDOW IS SCREEN DISPLAY "" AT 24, 1 (assuming you haven't changed the setting of ERROR LINE with an OPTIONS statement) or maybe you should display the error message within the window, instead of on the last line of the screen. Something like: OPTIONS MESSAGE LINE LAST ERROR "" # rings a bell MESSAGE "This is the error message" ATTRIBUTE( REVERSE ) Then closing the window or displaying a different MESSAGE would erase it.
