Svrinas chastised me: > Off late I am observing this 'informix-list' mails and I think > most of the people just think it as a trash can and dump whatever > they like (or comes into their mind). > > We all here are professionals. The problem is that I can often respond on what I remember out of 12 years of Informix consulting, but I don't have the manuals handy. I've had plenty of gratitude from people who I've helped here by pointing them in the right direction, without having the exact specifics for their situation. I also believe that I've pointed some people into alternate directions that they hadn't considered. And I'm not going to stop posting the way I do, just because some people don't like my sense of humour. And I have the right to post in any way I choose, as long as I stay on-topic and within the bounds of common decency. > Take the following example, What DON requested in the mail what the reply > he got ? I stand by my reply. Don asked us to tell him that Informix would/would not meet his requirements without telling us what his requirements were. I think if you'd read my post you would have noted the words > > *I've* never run into hassles with performance under Informix. But I have *no* > > idea of how to relate that to your requirements. Which, I believe, says it all. I can't give an answer to a question like "how long is a piece of string". Nor could you. > ONCE AGAIN I REQUEST YOU ALL PLEASE DO NOT FILL THIS DATABASE WITH JUNK. Tell that to the recruiters and the people offering get rich quick schemes. > ****************************************************** > ***** This is the DON's request and the below is the reply. > > > > I am interested in obtaining any information relating to actual customer > > > transaction rates for business transactions.
