Obtaining a list of databases from On-Line
Posted in 1992
Can anyone demonstrate to me how to obtain a list of databases from on-line. What I would like is a program (ESQLC?) which will list all the databases to standard output, or something that could be called from 4GL. I am not a C wizard, so examples would be most welcome! I have been using:- tbcheck -pc | grep Database: | cut -c16-34 The problems with using this command is that it is slow, it doesn't work on a client that is not running an engine and it falls over if any of the databases contain a view onto another database. We are running OnLine 5.00.UC2 engine and 4.10.UC2 tools on various SUNs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ John Brown (Software Support Manager) Amgen Ltd 321 Cambridge Science Park Email: johnb@amgen.com Milton Road Tel: + 44 223 436236 (Direct Line) Cambridge + 44 223 420305 (Switchboard) CB4 4WE Fax: + 44 223 420319 England ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Any opinions stated here are not neccesarily those of my employer, or myself! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
