We had a similar problem on SPARC-5 while installinng ESQL/C 7.1 Our programs used to get an error 25573 - Network driver can't accept connection to the port. After lot of research, I found that the linker was unable to locate the libnsl.so ; so I copied the libnsl.so to libnsl.a ( Probably it looks for an archive library; instead of a shared one).
