Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
A light exchange on the 'Wednesday, bloody Wednesday' thread about IBM job cuts announced the previous day. Obnoxio The Clown linked a news story and suggested it would make selling Informix harder for US IBMers; Ian Michael Gumby said IBM barely sells IDS in the US and growth comes from partners, and asked if anyone knew those affected. No technical content.

Sounds like it's going to be that little bit more difficult for IBMers
in the USA to sell Informix. :o(

Funny,it was because of these cuts that I entitled the post
'Wednesday, bloody Wednesday' since they were announced yesterday.
As to this impacting IDS sales in the US, I'd have to say that it
seems to be a non-issue. IBM doesn't sell IDS in the US. (Ok except
for the very large accounts that they inherited from Informix) The
bulk of the growth in new sales is largely due to their reliance on
partners.
So does anyone know people who were affected?
