When you start up the catlgr, make certain it is the same userid (root or informix). You will get some strange errors if the userid is root and you try to perform some onarchive functions as informix (or as a userid of the supergroup). I am currently compiling my notes for onarchive (and ondatartr) on how to use them in various backup and recovery situations and the shell scripts that we have implemented. I will submit this as a "call for papers" to present at the Informix User Group Conference in San Francisco. I know that few people are using onarchive because it is complex and flakey; but, I need it since I have multiple tape machines, a 9 hour level 0 backup, and fast recovery requirements. In case I don't get selected for a presentation, is there anyone else out there already using onarchive in production or are interested in it? Thanks. Barbara Garrett BGarrett1@aol.com
