Solaris 2.3 & 2.4 and ESQL/C problem

Has anyone had any luck building an esql/c client on solaris 2.3 or 2.4? Informix technical support says that they will only support Online 6.0 ESQL/C with the Sunworks 2.0.1 compiler. We have ESQL/C 6.0 on Solaris 2.3 and we get a core dump when executing the dyn_sql demo program. We are using the 3.0 compiler of Sunworks. On Solaris 2.4 we get the same results using Sunpro 2.0.1. If I make the binary dyn_sql on Sun OS 4.1.3 using ESQL/C libraries for SUN OS 4.1.3 (with several different compilers) and move the binary to Solaris 2.3, it works perfectly. I realize Sun OS apps will run on Solaris 2.3, I am adding this to eliminate the connectivity issue. The core dumps occur while preparing the statement. However, the login is not a valid one. It returns a bogus SQLCODE in the 27000's. We are running Solaris 2.3 on a Sparc 2 and Solaris 2.4 on a Sparc. Has anyone actually successfully ran an ESQL/C generated application on Solaris 2.3 or 2.4? If so, was it with the Sunworks 2.0.1 compiler? I don't want to buy the 2.0.1 compiler if I don't need to. Thanks in advance. chris. cbeck@omni.voicenet.com cbeck%blustone@uunet.uu.net
