That Assertion Failure can be caused by any of several bugs in 7.23
that were fixed in 7.24UC5+. It can also be caused by an ESQL/C
application with a shared memory connection corrupting shared memory.
This can be caused by free()ing malloc() memory that is already free()d,
by free()ing static or local variables, by EXEC SQL FREEing a statement
that is still in use by an open CURSOR, by repeatedly re-opening a
CURSOR without CLOSING it first, by over writting array bounds, by
accessing an uninitialized pointer containing a garbage address, by
writing to the members of the sqlca structure, et cetera, et cetera, ...
Get the upgrade, if the problem persists try switching applications to
a network or pipe connection so that they crash instead of the engine.
