Regarding: IUG Voting
Posted in 2004
Neil, You're right. I'm wrong. After digging into the source code on the webpage, the voting IS done by the tradetips.com website. Maybe it ought to be a little clearer on the IIUG webpage. You shouldn't really have to dig into the source code to know who you're talking to. ;-) >> Your concern that anyone standing for office has access to or influence >> over > the voting process, or that it is in anything other than entirely fair and > transparent, is therefore completely unfounded. Here, I'll disagree with you and with June. It's NOT completely unfounded. It may be 'fixed' now, but it's not unfounded. In the previous election, Stuart DID have access to the ballots while he was running for President, and he used that info to harangue me about not voting for him. There was never any indication that the problem had actually been fixed and the address on the voting page today still shows an iiug.org address. My issue was the APPEARANCE of impropriety. When you fixed the issue and did not make the fix transparent enough to show that the issue was indeed resolved, you did nothing to change that appearance of impropriety. But thanks for fixing it.
