dbdiff2 and DBPATH problems
Posted in 1994
I keep hearing about DBPATH problems. I also note that several systems seem
to not have the ability to switch databases on the fly - as dbdiff2 used to
require. For those of you with this problem - you can thank Walt for coming
up with the suggestion - dbdiff2 supports a two-step operation using the
-s1 and -s2 switches.
DBPATH=xyzexport DBPATH
dbdiff2 -nd xxx -od yyy -s1
DBPATH=zxyexport DBPATH
dbdiff2 -nd xxx -od yyy -s2
This will unload all of the required data in step 1 (s1) and then pick up
where it left off in step 2 (s2) against the second database.
cheers
j.
