I can really only speak to DAL/ODBC but there may be other solutions avaiable from Information Builders, Techgnosis, Gupta, etc. With DAL, DAL handles all the network access to the DBMS. If your DAL Server supports TCP/IP then you can make a connection. DAL Servers that support Informix and TCP/IP are available for Sun, HP 9000, DEC Alpha, and RS/6000 Unix platforms and there is a DAL Server available for the VAX/VMS environment (among others) that support Informix. DAL/ODBC clients are available for both Mac and Windows systems. I hope this was helpful.
