(Your design.) 2) Thread libraries. AFIAK Informix requires one specific thread library. 3) Hardware/OS implementations of threads at the OS level. The interesting issue is thread in a SMP environment. Does it create a situation of deadlock? (Child thread and parent on different CPUs trying to access the same memory segment?) (Who gets blocked?) (What are the costs?) This may be the reason for problems with Online on certain platforms and OSs in the past.
