GUI with Java for Informix DB ?

Hello world, I'm a student and I have to write a GUI for a Informix DB-application. We're using Informix 7 with Solaris as the OS. Because the DB perhaps should be accessible some day from the WWW I thought of Java to build the GUI (but access from WWW now is not the problem). I have some questions: - Is it a good idea to write a GUI for Informix in Java ? (If not what else ?) - If yes, what do I need (I think a JDVC driver for Informix? If so where to get, is it free, does it work ?) - Do you know any ressources in the WWW where I can get examples or tips&tricks - Any tips of experienced users what to pay attention to ? - Anything you think you should tell me to this topic Thanks, Bernhard.
