For years (15+) we have been storing our images as OS file. We are now running an up to date version 11.5 of IDS and we are starting to spread our images around to different servers at hosting companies and storing the URLs to use in the web apps. We need to build an image library that stores the master image in the database. I have been studying and there seem to be a lot of differing techniques. I wanted to get some feedback on ways that people have found the best for IDS. I am escpecially interested in the use of blobspace vs. sbspace. Thank you
my 2 cents: i would use blobspaces when i do not need HDR. Ask Madison if there are plans to implement HDR for blobspaces. reason: blobs in blobspaces do not kill your buffer cache, nuke your log.logs. downside is that functions like filetoblob are not present hmm afaikr. these you have to write yourself.
